The Carnival for the Future is a unique alliance of artists, cultural and social workers, environmental activists, citizens and children who believe in the transformative power of art and culture. Around 30 initiatives and organizations work together to make the parade a reality. Since 2021, around 300 participants have been enlivening the carnival with creative ideas. Our carnival offers participation, unexpected encounters and a motivating exchange
OUR GOALS:
To experiment with visions of a fairer, better and more sustainable future through joyful resistance.
Undermining normality and questioning our daily lives – what can transformation look like?
To raise awareness of environmental issues in an accessible and surprising way.
To initiate intersectional processes in which environmental and social issues are not separated from one another.
To offer opportunities for participation, unexpected encounters and motivating exchanges.
To strengthen the power of community and promote shared visions for the future by bringing together diverse people from different generations with creativity, joy and passion.
To raise our voices for our children and future generations.
To inspire through recycled art and impressive creations that promote an “art of transformation”, the art of the possible – not only of materials, but also of ways of thinking and behavior.
Highlighting the importance of games and unusual approaches to new challenges.
Provide visibility and networking for the diverse initiatives that deal with environmental and social issues.
Reach neighbors who do not normally participate in cultural life and are excluded from social participation due to various social phenomena and/or physical disabilities.
Building communities for change by working together creatively to fight for a better future.
Integrate strategies and perspectives that challenge traditional power structures and combat discrimination.
Establish an international platform with Carnival for the Future where we share our passion for sustainable practices.
